Do you Slice?

Hey everyone! This week, I've been working on lots of Making Memories projects which will be display samples in the MM booth at the upcoming CHA. I decided to take a break and post on the blog. I thought it might be fun to share with you some of the projects that I made for MM's new Slice idea card file. I hope you like them :)

Happy Father's Day to any dads out there! As you might have guessed, today's video is about "Dad" scrapbook pages.

Here's one of the pages in the video. I made it about 5 years ago but it feels like much longer than that. I love and respect my dad, so this page is special to me. If you'd like to read the journaling, just click on the image.

 

 

Here's another page. Although I took the photos and scrapped the page, Rob did the title, all the journaling and picked the quote. Inside the little folded paper on the left is a hand written letter from him to the kids. So this really is his page created for our boys.

 I wish I could stay and write more but because it's Father's Day, I need to go spend time with 2 very special guys in my life. Have a wonderful day! God bless!

Hello friends! Today's video is different and not too scrappy but I hope you find it interesting. We're starting something new today on the girlfriends blog, and it's called Weigh In Wednesday. It's a day, where we all check in and talk about how we're doing with eating (or not eating) healthy foods and exercising. If you have any tips for losing weight or just being healthy, we'd love to hear them! All 3 of us are trying to lose a few pounds.

Donna made the cutest little chunky mini book to keep track of her calories. So Johanna and I wanted to make one too. Instructions for all 3 Weigh In mini books shown in the video will be posted at thegirlfriendsclub.typepad.com later today. And the winner of last weeks' Prima Paintables Pinecone Kit prize will be announced there too.

Made more kits
Thank you, everyone, who purchased my Days to Remember Rolodex kits and/or Paperclip Calendar kits. I'm sending out my last 2 Rolodex purchases today. I have 3 more of Paperclip calendars left. 

For those who weren't able to get one of the Days to Remember Rolodex kits, I have good news! Today, I bought more of the supplies needed for that kit, and we'll be putting those kits together tomorrow. So if you'd like one, I'll start shippng them out on Friday, June 19th. I'll also be posting some of Johanna's kits tonight.

Class kits

Hey everyone! I promised to post my extra class kits for sale. Thank you SO much for your patience! I'm posting these about 4 months later than I planned - sorry about that. Time just flew by!

A few things to note... I'm posting these on my blog page (instead of etsy). Here's the link to my little shop. I haven't figured out yet how to control the shipping costs for those who buy more than 1 item. So if you decide to buy more than 1 item, let me know and I can either give you a price break (as a paypal refund) or I can throw in some fun scrapbooking product into your box - your choice - just let me know, thanks! Also, I don't know how to set a limit to the quantity in my stash. So please please keep in mind that I could run out before you place your order. That means you could place an order and it turns out the item is already sold out. If that is the case, I would return your money right away. But hopefully it won't come to that. I'll try to keep track of the number sold and pull the plug as soon as I sell my last one (I'll put "Sold out" below it). Here are the 2 kits that I have right now. I'll start shipping them out on Saturday.

She made these using the Pinecone Press Prima paintables kit, which contains: Prima's paintable papers, a big set of water colors, a full set of brushes, a painter's palette, tuelle, and Donna's dictionary paper scalloped circles (for making paper flowers). I'm going to apologize again for my email replies (or more appropriately put - lack thereof). As of 4:08 p.m. today, I have 301 unread emails. I just can't catch up. If you have emailed me and I haven't replied, please please don't think I'm ignoring you. I'm just not sure I can reply to everyone who emails me. I will try my best this week to get caught up but I doubt I can email everyone back.

Starting this Friday, our own in-house photography expert, Johanna Peterson, will be giving fabulous photo tips and ideas on the the girlfriends blog. So drop by thegirlfriendsclub.typepad.com on Fridays.  We're also going to start doing something a bit unusual, starting next Wednesday. I don't think I would describe it as fun but we're hoping it will be helpful :)

Happy June! How is everyone doing on this fine June day? All is well on this end, but I can't believe how fast this year is flying by, and school is almost over too! I think I'm more excited than my kids are about the school year coming to an end.

In today's video Donna, Johanna, and I talk about storage. It's got some pretty cool ideas, I hope you like it.

Prima Studio
If you haven't dropped by lately, Prima Studio has quite a few free videos now. The outtakes there are fun too (I think it's mostly because Donna and I have a knack for making mistakes, LOL!). They also have video classes on CD and kits.

On Assignment
I posted a new challenge for On Assignment. This challenge involves sewing so I'm excited to see the pages submitted for this call. The pages we pick from this challenge will go into the January issue of Scrapbooks etc.

vBlog No. 67

 

Happy Friday, everyone! Hey, sorry I've been posting the vBlogs later and later in the week. With the school year coming to an end, I have been running around non-stop. I honestly have no idea why I agree to help out with so many school parties and field trips. I should learn to say "no" more often or at least once in awhile. In any case, here's today's video. Our new Girlfriends Club ideabook is published (yay!) so we show a few projects from the book made using one of Pinecone's new kits which was created for us and the book. This kit has Fancy Pants papers (love these papers!), 2 sheets of sturdy cardboard, ribbon, and denim. Johanna, Donna, and I ended up creating very different projects - what a surprise!

Here's what I made using the kit which is shown in the video. The ideabook is filled with fun pages and projects like this. I loved everything that Donna and Johanna made in the book - they really outdid themselves!

I'll be teaching this project at Pink Pineapple Scrapbooks in Vista, California in June. Donna and Johanna will be teaching at this event too so come if you can. It's called the Girlfriends Summer Workshop: A day of fun projects and cool, new scrapbook techniques.
