vBlog No. 20

This week, Johanna shows us her recipe mini album, and we talk about the importance of scrapbooking our recipes and those handed down from past generations. I hope you enjoy the video. We'll be back with a new video in 2 weeks.

Thanks everyone for your comments and for sharing your off-the-page projects with us last week. We loved them and were so inspired by you! Everyone who left a comment was entered into a random drawing for a prize, and those who posted their projects had their names entered 4 times. It turns out the winner of last week's vBlog prize was someone who linked us a project. The winner is Jennalee and she posted this cute pencil project. Speaking of the word "cute", Donna and I said "cute" six times in the video, LOL! Jenna, please email me your address and I'll get your box of Prima, Three Bugs in a Rug, Autumn Leaves and American Crafts goodies in the mail.

Have a great week, everyone!

vBlog No. 19

Hi everyone! Today's video is about scrapbooking "off the page". Johanna, Donna and I used ribbon, brads, flowers, and other scrapbook supplies to decorate hats and flip flops. It's not a very instructional video; we're just having fun scrapbooking. Here are a few pictures of what we made.

Post a comment under this video by next Friday, May 9th, and you're entered into a random drawing. The prize is: a bottle of Prima flowers, a Making Memories flocking and foil kit plus other fun scrapbook products from Three Bugs in a Rug, Autumn Leaves and American Crafts! If you post a link to an "off-the page" project that you made, your name is entered 4 times!

From the Heart
Donna has organized a charity event called "From the Heart" and it will be hosted at the Red Bee in Tustin, CA on Saturday, May 31st. It's going to be a wonderful event and lots of fun! I'll be there doing make-n-takes around 2:30 so I hope you can come to the event. For more info about the event, check out Donna's blog. I hope to see you there!

Fiskars TV
Filp_frameI have a new video at Fiskars TV where I show how to make this flip album and simple frames using acrylic signs. To drill the holes, I use the Fiskars craft drill which works like a charm. You can buy the acrylic signs at Staples and Office Depot. If you can't find them or if you want them pre-drilled, let me know, and I'll put a few in the shop.

I'm teaching a class in Corona, CA
On Saturday, May 31st, 10:30 a.m., I'll be teaching my address/birthday reminder Rolodex, and as part of the class, I'll also teach my paper roll frame. If you're interested in taking the class, it will be at Once upon a Time in Corona, CA. Here's the phone number: (951) 372-8214.

Donna, Johanna and I decided to create All About Me pages, and in today's video, we share them with you. We had fun making ours and we encourage you to make at least one page all about you.

My page is mostly digital. I used a very user-friendly scrapbook software called Scrapbook Factory Deluxe so it took about 30 minutes to make the page - most of the time was spent thinking about and typing the journaling.

Leah_all_about_me

I loved Donna's and Johanna's pages. Donna's was made using product from Prima. Behind the frame she tucked in 3 journal tags.

Johanna used Around the Block and some fun quotes. In the video, both Johanna and Donna have some fun news to share regarding Prima and Around the Block.

vBlog No. 16

Hi everyone! In today's video, Donna, Johanna and I talk about our very first scrapbook pages and contrast that with one of our latest pages. I really enjoyed seeing their first pages and talking with them about how our styles have changed over the years. Check out my little heart border along the bottom of my first page. I was so proud of it. I should also mention that I was scrapbooking with photos taken using a disposable camera that someone gave me. I think the biggest difference between my first page and what I do now is all the patterned paper I love to use. The little animals on my page are die cuts and were made using Cricut.

Have a look at our pages and let us know what you think. I think we've changed just a bit :)

Girlfriends Weekend
Our Girlfriends Scrapbooking Weekend was a hit! It was even better than I imagined it would be. I'll try to post some video clips of it soon. To see some pictures and get the scoop on the event, check out Donna, Johanna and Wendy's blogs. I was still recovering from a cold and not feeling my best, but I honestly have never had more fun at a crop. Everyone went home with lots of great product thanks to all of our fabulous sponsors! Thank you sponsors!! I also want to thank everyone that attended (I made tons of new friends), Ever After Scrapbooks and, of course, Wendy, Candice, Johanna and Donna! Thanks everyone!

Our first Girlfriends Scrapbooking Weekend went so well, we're hitting the road and will have a Girlfriends Scrapbooking Weekend in Las Vegas in August! More details to come. We've also had many requests to do one on the east coast. If you're a retailer on the east coast and would like us to come to your town, let us know and we'll see if we can work it out.

Emails
I can't seem to catch up on all my emails and I'm sure that I've missed seeing or replying to some, sorry about that. If you're waiting on an email from me, give me a few days and if you don't hear from me by then, please give it another try. I'll try my best to reply to everyone.

Thank you! Have a wonderful day!

vBlog No. 15

Warning - do not attempt this at home, LOL!

Here's a quick silly video outtake. We'll post a scrapbook video later next week. Donna, Johanna and I will be showing you our very first pages. We'll have a prize too!

Goodie bag!

Girlfriends_scrapbooking_weekendHere's a way for you to get one of the goodie bags from our upcoming Girlfriends Scrapbooking Weekend:

  • Call your friends and family that might be able to attend
  • Get at least one of them (who hasn't already signed up) to call the store to sign up and pay for the event
  • Email me the name of the person that signed up because you referred them

This is limited to the first 10 referrals. Here's the number at Ever After: (760) 433-9313.

It's going to be a great event! I'll try to video tape some of it and post it on the blog. Have a nice day!

So much to say so little time

South Africa
Hello friends! How's everyone doing? I got back from South Africa last week. I had the most amazing time! I spent the first 3 days there on safari! It was unbelievable, beautiful and breath taking. After that, Aubrey and I traveled to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Jeffrey's Bay as part of a scrapbook roadshow.

Jeffreys_bay

The safari, the road show, everything was organized by one of the most wonderful and generous persons I've ever met, Michelle De Souza (right), and she had an excellent team: Sindy (left) & Lynn. It's nice to know that we have dear friends on the other side of the world.

Johannesburg_event_I swiped this picture collage from Michelle's blog (thanks Michelle!); these are pictures taken at the first event in Johannesburg. Everyone we met was so nice. Aubrey and I had such a great time teaching at all the events. For lots of pictures of us in South Africa, check out Aubrey's blog.

Michelle, Sindy, Lynn, Anton (Michelle's husband), thank you all so much for giving Aubrey and I the time of our lives!

Okay, I gotta run. Have a fun and relaxing weekend! God bless!
